Cookie Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This page describes how the Harling website uses cookies and local storage technologies (LocalStorage and SessionStorage) on your device, for what purposes, for how long, and how you can manage or withdraw your preferences at any time.
For general information about the data controller and your rights under the GDPR, see our Privacy policy.
1. How we handle consent
In accordance with the applicable rules (the GDPR and the guidelines of the Italian data protection authority):
- Non-essential tracking is off by default. On your first visit we do not save any analytics or tracking preference.
- The analytics and profiling features provided through the CDP Forge platform are turned on only if you click “Accept” in the banner.
- Until you answer, nothing is saved on your device and no identifier is sent: the website’s content loads anyway, without identifier and without cookies.
- If you choose to reject or to close the banner, the website keeps working normally without collecting browsing metrics. Your choice, a rejection too, is recorded by CDP Forge as proof of the choice, without cookies, together with an identifier valid only for the current page and never saved.
2. Technical and necessary tools (no consent)
These storage tools are essential for the website to work properly and to provide the features you ask for (for example keeping you signed in or remembering the language you chose). They do not require your prior consent.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
harling-lingua | LocalStorage | Stores the preferred language selected by the user. | Until changed or manually cleared |
harling-sessione | SessionStorage | Keeps the account session active while browsing. | Until the tab/browser is closed |
harling-ricordo | LocalStorage | Allows automatic sign-in without re-entering the password (active only when “Stay signed in” is selected). | 30 days (or until sign-out) |
cdpf_consent | LocalStorage | Stores the choice made in the cookie banner so it is not shown again on every page. | Until the choice is changed or manually cleared |
cdpf_consent_synced_at | LocalStorage | Records the date your choice was last recorded (renewal requested about every 6 months). | Until manually cleared |
Anti-bot protection: the “Join the playtest” and “Work with us” forms use a technical anti-bot check to prevent automated spam. It relies on the website’s legitimate interest in security and does not require consent.
3. Analytics and tracking tools with CDP Forge (with consent)
These tools collect aggregated, anonymised statistics on visits and browsing, to improve the user experience. They are turned on only after you click “Accept”.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
did | LocalStorage | Anonymous device identifier to recognise later visits. | Until consent is withdrawn or data is cleared |
bid | LocalStorage | Alternative tracking identifier (used when the visit comes through a specific link). | Until consent is withdrawn or data is cleared |
sid | SessionStorage | Holds information related to the current browsing session. | Until the tab/browser is closed |
eventsqueue | LocalStorage | Temporary queue of browsing events waiting to be sent to the server. | Until the first successful send |
cdpf_ad_match_id_sent | LocalStorage | Prevents the same ad identifier code from being sent twice. | Until consent is withdrawn or data is cleared |
cdpf_did | Third-party cookie (cdpforge.com) | Copy of the did identifier set by the CDP Forge server. Allows recognition across websites belonging to the same CDP Forge network. | 400 days |
- Where it is kept: the browsing and statistical data collected is kept on servers located in the European Union.
- How long it is kept: the analytics data linked to tracking is deleted automatically 3 years after it was collected.
4. Tracking of advertising campaigns
If you reach the website by clicking an ad (for example Google, Meta, LinkedIn or TikTok), the address of the landing page may contain a tracking identifier code (click ID). If you have consented to the analytics tools, that code is read only once to attribute the visit correctly, with no further unauthorised profiling.
5. How to manage or withdraw your consent
You can change or withdraw your preferences at any time:
- by clicking the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page of the website;
- by clicking the button below to reopen the choices.
What happens if you withdraw your consent:
- sending of statistical data stops immediately;
- the data and keys saved locally (listed in point 3) are removed from your device automatically;
- the withdrawal is recorded by CDP Forge as proof of your choice, together with the identifier you had saved;
- the third-party cookie
cdpf_did(on thecdpforge.comdomain) is no longer used and can be removed directly from your browser’s cookie settings.
